Guy Raz

Guy Raz is a journalist, correspondent, and podcast host. He known for his work with NPR (National Public Radio) and other media outlets. He was born on September 30, 1975, in Los Angeles, California. Raz grew up in a family of immigrants from Iran and Israel. He attended Brandeis University in Massachusetts, where he studied history and politics.

After graduating from college, Raz began his career as an intern at CNN in Washington D.C. He then went on to work as a reporter for various news organizations, including CNN, ABC News, and the Voice of America. In 2000, he joined NPR as a reporter, and eventually became a foreign correspondent based in Berlin, Germany. He covered stories from around the world, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Arab Spring uprisings.

In 2010, Raz became the host of NPR’s “Weekend All Things Considered”. Later served as the host of the TED Radio Hour. This podcast explores ideas and innovations in science, technology, and other fields. In 2016, he left NPR to start his own podcast production company, called “How I Built This”. This podcast focuses on the stories of successful entrepreneurs and their businesses. He has also written a book based on the podcast, titled “How I Built This: The Unexpected Paths to Success from the World’s Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs.”
